CTE: High-Flying Innovation: Proctor Students Take on Drone Soccer at SUNY Poly

On September 25, Thomas R. Proctor High School students recently attended the fourth annual District 2 Drone Soccer Kickoff at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Students learned the ins and outs of the sport while connecting with athletes and students from other schools. They gained hands-on experience building and assembling their drones, learning how to safely fly them and then put their skills to the test during a game of drone soccer.

The experience also helped students develop valuable employability skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability and sportsmanship. By working with new teammates and interacting with students from other schools, students gained confidence while exploring a unique STEM-based career and learning opportunity.
