NYPA: Junior Fellowship Pre-Apprenticeship Program

The NYPA Junior Fellowship Program (Cohort 3) engaged 17 students from Proctor High School in a year-long professional development experience designed to build essential power skills and prepare participants for future employment opportunities. Throughout the program, students explored careers in the energy sector, participated in hands-on learning activities and visited various NYPA and community sites across the region. A key component of the fellowship involved conducting an energy audit for a local business, where students analyzed energy usage and developed recommendations to help reduce costs and improve efficiency. The program provided valuable real-world experience while strengthening communication, teamwork, problem-solving and leadership skills.
